The Sugar Bowl Willow Creek Stories

Where the stories took place

Follow the Trinity from Willow Creek toward the lower Hoopa valley. These shapes come from land and mineral records: they show where a record applies, while the stories and newspaper accounts tell us who passed through.

Numbers identify record areas, not house or mine entrances.

Reading the plate

An outline is not a doorstep.

A patent fixes a historical land description. It usually cannot tell us where a family built its home or where a mining crew dug. The parcel overlay follows a modern cadastral grid and remains under historical-plat review; reconstructed half-parcels are more approximate still. The Kirkham boundary is a recorded mineral survey; the Clover Flat outlines are patent-location areas, not mapped pit edges.

The story links lead to historical fiction. The source links lead to the underlying record. Present ownership and access are not shown here.
